Hi,
I am new to blogging so this will be a work in progress to learn how to download photos and video of my trip. If you have any tips, please share!!
So I am leaving Seattle on Friday, December 19 and plan to visit China, Thailand, South Africa and Egypt before I return home on February 23.
I am so excited but also very nervous. Most of the trip will be by myself, however, my mom is working fast and furiously to find flights to meet me in Thailand and South Africa. I am also hopeful that a few friends will join me if their schedules allow.
I am selfishly doing this blog to help me journal and remember everything I do over the next two months. If in the meantime, you are entertained, then we both gain something from this experience.
Happy Holidays and here's to a great 2009!

ReplyDeleteHi Kelly, i don't see my first comment, obviously I'm new to blogging also, and so far not very successful. Will try again. glad you have survived this first part, and are getting more familiar with traveling. I never would have thought about hotel name translation! I've got the things you asked for, today I'm finalizing my trip pack and going over South Africa more. My friend sent me the name of a travel agent there. Will check into that also. Have a wonderful time, a very interesting Merry Christmas, and see you next week. love mom
ReplyDeleteI don't know how rusty came on the name part. I saw I had to register to post a comment, signed my email, and this came up! What connection would this computer have to sign me as rusty?
ReplyDeleteYour trip sounds wonderful so far, and I am soooo proud of you. I am totally entertained by your blog, and will be checking it daily. It makes me feel a little like I am traveling along with you. Merry Christmas.

ReplyDeleteLove ya, Shan and the family
Is there a vending machine on top of the Great Wall that sells corn nuts? If so, get me some. Your mom is here in Paso getting ready for the big adventure. I told her to stop at Pep Boys and get a spear vest. How many cup of noodles have you had in Beijing?
