2/11/09 Tour of Cape Town city

Wednesday, February 11
I took a tour on the double decker red bus around Cape Town. This tour bus is starting to feel like home since I have toured many a city on these buses.
The tour took us to the waterfront, clock tower, convention center, St George Cathedral, South African Museum, Mount Nelson hotel and the South African Jewish Museum. I got off the double decker bus and toured the 6th district which was an area where folks from all different backgrounds/heritage lived peacefully and quietly. Once the government enacted apartheid, they made everyone living in the 6th District move since it went against their new policy that people from different cultures could not live in the same neighborhood. I keep asking myself how this could have possibly happened....amazing the stupid policies that the government can create. Any who....
The first photo is taken from the downtown area and it shows the cloud cover which is quite common on Table Mountain. I was unable to go to the top of Table Mountain since it was too windy but the other photo I posted was from the base of the Table Mountain. I am going to try to go to the top tomorrow if the cable car is open...
