Wednesday, January 7 Chiang Mai - Elephants!!
We went to an Elephant Show for about an hour and then rode an elephant for about an hour, We gave ours lots of treats so I think he/she liked us. We then took an Ox cart back to the show area and took a river tour. The elephants were amazing - they played soccer, painted, and bowed.
We then went back to the hotel and had lunch for about $5 US. This place is great!
My mom and I then venture out to find the post office so I can ship a few items home. We finally find the post office after about a 30 minute search and I ship a box that weighs 10 kilos for $55 US and will take three months to get to Seattle on A BOAT!!!! Any bets on whether this box actually shows up? I am a little nervous so I need to go visit the Buddha and make a donation.
We go back to the hotel to get out of the heat for a few hours and then to the night market from 6:30-8. I know it seems like I am shopping a lot but really I am going to experience the culture. I am really not buying very much at all...just the suits...cause you know...when in Rome...
We take a Tuk-Tuk back and forth to the market for about $1 US.
