Mom and I stayed at the JW Marriott and it was truly amazing! The most difficult decision was which bathing suit to wear each day. The beach was quiet and wonderful. I went scuba diving 2 days at the Phi Phi islands (where The Beach was filmed) and at Racha Yai. Diving was not very good as it was winding which made the viz about 12-15 feet. I did see some cool fish and swam with a turtle for awhile.
I had one hour thai beach massages for $12 US and enjoyed the pool every day. Mom and I went on a cave canyoning tour which was very cool. A guide paddles you through caves which require you to late flat in the boat so you don't hit any part of your body.
I am now at the Bangkok airport having flown here this morning. My flight to Hong Kong leaves in about an hour and then a 13.5 hour flight to Jburg. After about a three hour layover, mom and I fly to Kruger National Park for a four night safari.
The place we are staying has internet so if they do not charge an arm and a leg, I will post photos in a few days.
Thanks for the comments and emails. I am enjoying hearing from you!

I can almost hear the waves on that beach.... its kind of like the rush of the HVAC at the Pasco Airport. How great is that...
